About the Artist

Hello, my name is Catherine Coveyou. I am an artistic, passionate, and experienced professional seeking opportunities where I can apply my skills and experience in 3D modeling, animation, game design, character design, digital art and teaching in a creative, energetic, professional environment where I can rapidly contribute and continue to hone my skills.

I have been a practicing artist since I was 12. I found deep connections and comfort in video games and anime. I began aspiring to mimic the drawings of characters whose stories I was immersed in. As I grew older, I found myself drawn to the concept art behind so many powerfully animated stories. With my art, I aspired from there to craft elements of story that would give the viewer the feelings I described above: connection and comfort. 

I began my college career with a focus on digital art. After moving back closer to my family, I began down the path of 3D modeling and animation. As I continued honing in on 3D, I was able to apply my creativity to reflect my artistic goals in my models. From there, I began to merge my 2D background with animation. 

My art style is unpredictable, but I tend to focus often on characters and colors. My work consists of both traditional and digital, mostly a combination of both. I enjoy the flexible freedom of switching between mediums, and tend to choose based on what I am aiming to create. The subject matter of my work mostly consists of semi-realism and surrealism, with a sprinkle of cartoonish charm.
